“Sometimes healing doesn’t begin by forcing our way forward. Sometimes it begins by making room.”

There are seasons of life when everything feels a little constricted. A lingering heaviness in the chest. Air that doesn’t seem to reach quite as deeply. The feeling that both body and spirit have forgotten what a full breath feels like.

The Clearing was created for those seasons.

At the heart of this blend is Elecampane, a treasured herb with centuries of traditional use for supporting the respiratory system. Rather than simply soothing, Elecampane has long been valued for encouraging movement, helping the body clear what has lingered and make space for what comes next.

Who this is for
The Clearing may be a beautiful companion for those who are looking to:

  • Support healthy respiratory function.*
  • Encourage the movement of occasional mucus congestion.*
  • Enjoy traditional herbs that have long been used to support the lungs.*
  • Create a comforting evening or rainy-day ritual.
  • Slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with themselves.

Brewing Guidance: Use 1 tablespoon of tea per 8–10 oz of water.

Because this blend contains roots, a gentle simmer (decoction) brings out its fullest character.

  • Add herbs to cool water.
  • Bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Simmer for 10–15 minutes.
  • Strain and enjoy.

For a lighter cup, you may steep with freshly boiled water for 10–15 minutes, though a decoction is recommended for the fullest extraction.

A touch of raw honey pairs beautifully with this blend.

The Plants Within:

  • Elecampane Root – Traditionally used to support healthy respiratory function and encourage the movement of stagnant mucus.
  • Mullein Leaf – A classic lung herb traditionally used to soothe and support the respiratory tract.
  • Marshmallow Root – Rich in soothing mucilage that helps comfort irritated tissues.
  • Nettle Leaf – A deeply nourishing herb traditionally used to support overall vitality.
  • Calendula Flowers – Bright, cheerful blossoms long appreciated for supporting the lymphatic system and bringing warmth to herbal formulas.
  • Licorice Root – A harmonizing herb that softens the blend while traditionally supporting the throat and respiratory system.

Together, they create a cup that feels grounding, comforting, and quietly expansive.

Not because it forces the body to heal.

But because it invites the body to remember how to create space again.

Flavor: Earthy • Warm • Gently Sweet • Herbaceous

Elecampane offers an aromatic bitterness that is beautifully softened by the natural sweetness of licorice root, the gentle richness of marshmallow, fresh green notes from nettles, and the sunny brightness of calendula.

It is a nourishing, grounding cup with remarkable depth.

Safety Notes:  Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease.

  • Consult your healthcare provider before use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking prescription medications, or have a medical condition.
  • Contains licorice root, which may not be appropriate for individuals with uncontrolled high blood pressure, certain kidney conditions, or those advised to avoid glycyrrhizin.
  • Those with allergies to plants in the Asteraceae (daisy) family (such as ragweed, chamomile, or calendula) should use caution, as elecampane and calendula are members of this family.
  • Discontinue use if irritation or an allergic reaction occurs.

A Note from Wanderbloom

We believe herbs are companions, not dictators.

They do not replace the wisdom of the body. They invite us to listen to it.

May this blend offer a quiet place to slow down, take a fuller breath, and remember that healing often begins not by forcing change, but by making room for it.
